Origin Coffee Roasters are the OG's of the specialty coffee game
They are based in Southwark (still getting made fun of for pronouncing it "South Wark") on Scoresby Street underneath the railway, in a beautiful archway renovated into the now extremely trendy coffee shop.
They provide the beans for loads of cafes scattered around London and specifically the cafe I work at (District London). They explore the world, sourcing some of the best beans so that every cup of coffee produced is an enjoyable experience. The cafe in Southwark is also home to the Origin Coffee Training Course where you can go and learn the art behind the perfect cup of coffee, learning latte art, filter coffee, coffee recipes, machine work and so much more.
They do both coffee and food, both of high quality at affordable prices might I add. I got my standard flat white along with scrambled eggs on toast and boy was it a bloody good combo. Highly rate their scrambled eggs - not sure how they make them so good I've experimented at home added different ratios of milk to eggs and even butter but still yet to perfect. The coffee is of course delicious as they use their own roasted beans to brew the perfect batch. The beans they used were the Resolute Espresso Blend from Brazil & Columbia. They roast their beans twice a week so you know that you are always going to get the freshest beans on hand.
If you want to make a day out of your journey to the city you are super close to the Tate Modern/Contemporary Art Museum which has some great exhibitions on at the moment.
Origin is definitely a cafe I highly recommend on visiting so add it to the list and head on in, you won't be disappointed!
